this is ashley again, because nobody will post anything about going to visit our grandparents so i will! we left early sunday morning to go see my mom's mom and dad in little Christopher Creek Arizona. proabaly my second favorite place in the world.. on sunday we just walked the loop and caught up. monday we sat out on the porch watching the rain most of the day. tuesday just our family went fishing. but i wouldn't really call it fishing because we didn't catch anything :( sad enough. we rented a boat and thought that would help us do better being in the middle of the lake....... but it didn't. we got back to my grandma's and went to a resturaunt called double d's.. i wasn't really sure about going there because on desperate housewives there's a strip club called double d's.. but it turned out to be really good :) then early wednesday morning we made our journey back to the 112 degree weather. and it was so nice not sitting in dam traffic for once. the new bridge is amazing.
since it's been over a year and nobody has updated our blog i figured i should probably do it since we have so many people wondering about what's going on in our lives ;) this past week we took a vacation to california. we left sunday morning to san diego, and spent sunday shopping at seaport village, eating the best mexican food ever at old town, and visiting the mormon batallion where my dad found his true destiny; gold panning. monday morning we went to the tide pools and to point loma where my grandpa used to work at the lighthouse for the coast guard. then we went to this delicious seafood place then back to old town to look around some more. then we spent the rest of the night driving down to huntington beach. my dad had to work tuesday thru thursday so it was kind of sad going to these places without him. tuesday thru friday we spent in huntington beach. tuesday morning we spent walking down huntington beach pier, riding bikes, and swimming at the beach. on wednesday we went to knotts berry farm. it was really fun actually going somewhere besides disneyland. the lines were alot shorter and the riders were alot more extreme. my favorite and scariest one was the xcellerator and it went 0-82 before we even had a chance to scream. it was insane. we all felt a little sick around 5 or 6 so we went back to the hotel and got ready to go eat at the best chinese restaurant i've ever been to in my life! maybe having half of california being populated by asians had something to do with it? i will never know. on thursday we woke up super early to go and look for sand dollars. sadly enough we didn't find any, all the old people beat us too it. on our way back to the car we got yelled at by a hobo :( that's the last time i ever try to help one!! we went back to the hotel got ready and came back to the beach to swim. nolan taught me and megs how to catch sand crabs and we pretty much spent the whole time trying to catch little baby sand crabs. the rest of the day we spent shopping and walking on the pier at sunset. then friday morning we made our journey back home to the 110 degree weather. woo.
brooklynn is the bomb, and nobody can say otherwise! she sings, dances, and fantisizes about adam lambert i mean who doesn't like him. ha. sike. anyways she always finds time during the summer to come over here and play board games with us or watch a movie. she brings lunch every single time and she always doubles her amount than what she gave us :) it's funny.
yesterday megan and i made two new friends summer and autumn[5 months]. both these girls are our next door neighbors and we had a play date with both of them! this morning megan and i were our cleaning my soon to be car (one day when it runs) and summer came over wanting to play house inside the car. so as we listened to hannah montana and jonas brothers we "drove" to, the park, lins, and a store. then we took a little trip to home hardware for string and beads to make bracelets. then when we got home it was time for her to leave :( but when she left another little baby came over. her name is autumn whiting and she is adorable! she is the happiest little thing i've ever seen in my whole life. my mom had her talking and laughing it was so cute. we didn't get any pictures with summer but we took some with autumn, here they are.
lately our garden has been producing like crazy! we planted strawberries, jalapeno's, onions, green beans, artichokes, carrots, beets, snap peas, and tomatoes. my dad has invented this "acid juice" for the plants and supposedly it was supposed to make the plants grow bigger and produce more. nobody believed him, but obviously it seemed to work. my mom has been trying to keep up with the tomatoes and making salsa at least twice a week. and we can make most our salsa out of our garden! so it's nice. i love my mom's salsa :) mmmm.! here's some pictures of my padre harvesting haha. we also have some lizard friends that like to come visit us during the summer. his name is lizzy and we haven't named his wife and kids yet.
so first off all i have to say about track was it was flippen freezing cold there. i secretly loved it, but at the same time it wasn't too nice running in snow :) this year state was in Reno Nevada. and on our way up there the bus broke down just outside of alamo which i might add was FABULOUSS!! NOT. it wasn't to bad. but we had to ride up with virgin valley.. and by the end of the trip we were all friends, which was nice. but here's some pics. Ashley this is the best i got at state, and it was 4th in the 300 hurdles.
matt and i were married in 1992. ashley joined us in 1993 and Megan in 1996. we moved out here in that same year, when megan was a month old. ashley plays sports, and megan is the first cheerleader in the family.
