goin goin, back back, to cali cali!!!

since it's been over a year and nobody has updated our blog i figured i should probably do it since we have so many people wondering about what's going on in our lives ;)
this past week we took a vacation to california. we left sunday morning to san diego, and spent sunday shopping at seaport village, eating the best mexican food ever at old town, and visiting the mormon batallion where my dad found his true destiny; gold panning. monday morning we went to the tide pools and to point loma where my grandpa used to work at the lighthouse for the coast guard. then we went to this delicious seafood place then back to old town to look around some more. then we spent the rest of the night driving down to huntington beach. my dad had to work tuesday thru thursday so it was kind of sad going to these places without him. tuesday thru friday we spent in huntington beach. tuesday morning we spent walking down huntington beach pier, riding bikes, and swimming at the beach. on wednesday we went to knotts berry farm. it was really fun actually going somewhere besides disneyland. the lines were alot shorter and the riders were alot more extreme. my favorite and scariest one was the xcellerator and it went 0-82 before we even had a chance to scream. it was insane. we all felt a little sick around 5 or 6 so we went back to the hotel and got ready to go eat at the best chinese restaurant i've ever been to in my life! maybe having half of california being populated by asians had something to do with it? i will never know. on thursday we woke up super early to go and look for sand dollars. sadly enough we didn't find any, all the old people beat us too it. on our way back to the car we got yelled at by a hobo :( that's the last time i ever try to help one!! we went back to the hotel got ready and came back to the beach to swim. nolan taught me and megs how to catch sand crabs and we pretty much spent the whole time trying to catch little baby sand crabs. the rest of the day we spent shopping and walking on the pier at sunset. then friday morning we made our journey back home to the 110 degree weather. woo.
